Decree-Law No. 35 of 2005 Amending Certain Provisions of Law No. 13 of 1997 Concerning the Civil Defence

We, Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Deputy Emir of the State of Qatar,
Having pursued the Constitution;
Law No. 13 of 1997 concerning the Civil Defence;
The proposal of the Minister of Interior; and
The draft Law submitted by the Council of Ministers;
Hereby promulgate the following Law:

Articles

Article 1

The text of Article 21 of Law No. 13 of 1997, referred to above, shall be replaced with the following text:
 
“Article 21
Under a resolution passed by the Minister of Interior or his delegate, it shall be possible to shut down facilities which refuse to implement the measures of civil defence on the due date set by the Civil Defence Department. The shut down shall be carried out administratively for a period of not more than three (3) months, such period to be renewable for further similar periods where the required measures were not implemented. The concerned party shall be entitled to appeal the resolution before the Court of First Instance within fifteen (15) days of the passing of the resolution.”


Article 2

All competent authorities, each within its own jurisdiction, shall enforce this Law which shall come into force from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
