Articles (1-2)

We Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar,

Having reviewed the Amended Provisional Constitution, in particular Articles 23, 27, and 34 thereof;

Law No. 2 of 1962 regulating the Fiscal Policy in Qatar;

Law No. 5 of 1989 on the General State Budget;

The proposal of the Minister of Finance, Economy and Commerce;

The draft law submitted by the Council of Ministers;

Hereby issuing the following law:

Articles

Article 1

The following paragraph shall be added to Sub-article 2 (2) of the aforesaid Law No. 2 of 1962:

(Notwithstanding the above, the government may, at its discretion, provide by decree, guarantees, commitments and obligations for the spending of funds from the state treasury in the coming year or years).

Article 2

All competent authorities, each within its jurisdiction, shall implement this law, which shall be published in the Official Gazette.
