1. Drawing up plans for the management of nature reserves, in coordination with the competent authorities. Conducting studies and evaluating proposals on the location of new reserves. Overseeing the management of nature reserves in the country and the preservation of wild life. Providing a database and information relating to natural reserves, including the species and numbers of living organisms. Issuing entry permitsto the reserves. Participating in the study of developmental projects and evaluating their environmental impact on protected wildlife and nature reserves. Issuing environmental approval for constructions outside the cities and in the villages, in coordination with the competent authorities. Issuing and managing temporary environmental permits for onshore facilities (Azab) and special camps. Issuing environmental permits for industrial and commercial sites, quarries and crushers, and permits for the extraction, transportation and supervision of sift reclamation, in coordination with the competent authorities. Preparing and implementing resettlement programs for endangered species in the Qatari environment, and providing the appropriate conditions for growth and reproduction thereof. Following up the implementation of the State's obligations resulting from the signing of relevant regional and international bio-diversity and wildlife conventions and protocols to which the State is a party. Participating in the preparation of studies, research and authorisations related to biodiversity. Studying the advantage of cutting-edge scientific methods and modern technology in the field of wildlife and marine protection, and publishing such studies after being proven to be valid and of benefit. Certifying the import and export of wildlife protected by international agreements, along with their products and offal. Supervising the management of wildlife rehabilitation and propagation in coordination with the competent authorities. Caring for rare and endangered animals within protected areas and conducting field tests for the development of wildlife. Supervising the Friends of the Environment Centre.
