The Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the State of Belarus (referred to hereinafter as "the Parties"),

 

Based on their mutual desire to enhance the friendship between their countries,

 

Affirming the role of the media in enhancing the ties of friendship between their people, and desiring to develop the aspects of media cooperation between them without prejudicing the applicable laws and systems in both countries,

 

Have agreed as follows:

 

Article 1

The Parties shall encourage the development of cooperation between their media entities, including broadcasting, television, journalistic corporations, news agencies and other institutions and corporations associated with media production and distribution services.

 

Article 2

The Parties shall encourage the exchange of visits between them as well as the display of media materials that particularly highlight the national and cultural characteristics of their societies for the purpose of improving mutual understanding of the political, economic and social life of their countries.

 

Article 3

The Parties shall support the available modern forms of information and communications technologies to facilitate the exchange of audiovisual and printed material between the parties.

 

Article 4

Each Party shall encourage the regular exchange of visits by its experts, media professionals, journalists and official media delegates to acquaint themselves with the media practices of the other Party in order to strength the professional relationships between them in a manner that contributes to the optimum performance of the content of this Agreement.

 

Article 5

Each Party shall undertake to provide the appropriate facilities for reporters and other media representatives delegated on media missions to the other Party, but without prejudicing the relevant national laws and procedures.

 

Article 6

The delegating Party shall bear the travelling expenses of its delegates to and from the host Party and the host Party shall bear the expenses of accommodation and internal transport of the other Party’s delegates according to the applicable rules in both countries.

 

Article 7

This Agreement or any part thereof may be amended by the written agreement of the Parties. Such amendment shall enter into force as of the date of exchanging ratification documents according to the applicable legal procedures of the Parties.

 

Article 8

This Agreement shall enter into force as of the date of exchanging ratification documents according to the applicable legal procedures of the Parties and shall be valid for three years, renewable automatically for the same period unless one of the Parties notifies the other in writing through diplomatic channels of its desire to terminate the agreement within at least three months of the date of its expiration.

 

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the undersigned being duly authorized by their respective governments have signed this Agreement.

 

This Agreement is issued and signed in the city of Doha on 15/09/1432 of Hijra corresponding to 15/08/2011. The Arabic, Belarusian and English versions are equally authentic. In case of disagreement/divergence/dispute in the interpretation hereof, the English text shall prevail.
